Diekjobst Interviewed on Climate Litigation by LTO
Rouven Diekjobst, MJur (Oxon.), Research Associate at the Institute for International Law of Peace and Armed Conflict (IFHV), contributed as an expert to Legal Tribune Online's (LTO) coverage of the Appeal Judgmet in the Dutch Shell climate case.
“Most of the 10 grounds of appeal that Shell had given were rejected,” he noted, though the Court of Appeal overturned the initial requirement for Shell to reduce emissions by 45% by 2030. Despite this setback, Diekjobst emphasized the case’s enduring significance, highlighting the growing wave of climate lawsuits against corporations, which he sees as critical for effective global climate protection.
